War vets, any advice for someone who is planning on going into the Army or Navy?

Posted by admin on September 5th, 2010 and filed under army navy | 9 Comments »

I sat down with my family and together we decided that the best opportunities for my future would lie within either the Navy or the Army. I am just out crusing for any last minute tips that i can start working on and testing on during my stay at the MYCA that might help me with the Army/ Navy which ever i do decided is best.

Before you sign any papers, do some research into what YOU want to do in the military. Just remember that Navy/ Coast Guard aren’t just about ships (I am in the Navy, and yet, I got stuck in Afghanistan for almost a year), Army/ Marines aren’t just about combat, and Air Force isn’t just about planes. There are many different jobs/ fields in each of these branches. When it comes down to it, if you do not like your job, then you will not be happy; and when you are not happy, you may also bring other people down too. Good Luck.

Would a discharged marine be able to join the army/navy/coastguard/airforce?

In the movie A Few Good Men the marines are discharged for conduct unfitting of a marine or something of that sort. In real life would a marine being discharged for a crime of that sort be able to join the army/navy/coastguard/airforce? I was just curious.
Thank you, yahoo answer members really know their military knowledge I can see.

All discharge paper work (DD form 214) comes with a re-entry code which range from RE-1 thru RE-4. RE-1 means you can come back in at any time. RE-2 and RE-3 both require waivers but you can get in with them. RE-4’s are the worst. If a person gets an RE-4, they can never again serve in any military branch. For the crimes committed in that movie, they would surely receive RE-4’s and thus not be accepted into any branch.

Hope this helped.

In YOUR opinion would you recommend the Marines, Navy or the Army?

How do Army/Navy marriages work?

Posted by admin on August 18th, 2010 and filed under army navy | 4 Comments »

I am currently in Army ROTC, and my boyfriend is in the Navy. I’m thinking about getting married after I graduate from college and become an Army officer, which will be significantly higher than his rank. Will this even possible or will the Army/Navy consider it to be "fraternizing"?

Inter-service marriages are a very bad idea. You two will never see eash other. Marriage between an enlisted and a commissioned officer were not allowed when was in. I doubt if they are now.

Because he/she really wants that, and just want to check is it an opportunity to stay in the country. Thank you.

What was the Name of the German, Army, Navy and Air-force, during WWII?…?

Posted by admin on July 23rd, 2010 and filed under army navy | 7 Comments »

Also, do you know, the German Army, Navy, and Air-force Commanders, who Lead them?…

The Name of the german army during WWII was Wehrmacht. Army in this case translat with Armee. Wehrmacht = Armee. Armee = Heer, Kriegsmarine und Lufrwaffe.

The Wehrmacht was divied in the army, navy and air force. The german translation is Heer (army), Kriegsmarine (navy) and Luftwaffe (airforce). But a soldier of the Heer was a member of the Wehrmacht as same as a soldier of the navy or airforce. Therefore the highest leader of the Wehrmacht was Adolf Hitler. So Hitler was the highest leader of the Heer, Kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe aswell. The particular chief of Heer, Kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe changed during the war. To name 2 for the Kriegsmarine, Erich Raeder and Karl Dönitz. For Luftwaffe i guess it was Hermann Göring from beginning to the end in 1945. From the Heer there are many. Check this out in wikipedia :) A different views exist about the Waffen-SS. Soldiers of the Waffen-SS made a lot of war crimes and tough the units of the Waffen-SS saw very often combat and a lot of SS-Soldiers got kiled in action, it was no part of the Wehrmacht, but because they fought along with the Wehrmacht and helped the units of the Wehrmacht often in dangerous times, some tend to agree to accept the SS-Soldiers "as soldiers like every soldiers too". By the way the system with Wehrmacht -Army, Navy and Luftwaffe is the same system for the Bundeswehr today. Bundeswehr is made of the Heer, Airforce and federal navy.

Why is there animosity between people who are in the Army, Navy, and the Air Force?

I recall seeing a 9/11 program where it showed that the NYPD and the FDNY couldn’t get along just before the the first tower was about to collapse. My friend who used to be in the USMC also said that officers in the army feel awkward when they have to collaborate with the Navy and other military contingents. Is this true, or is the friction that they show just an old-fashioned rivalry?

Believe me brother, NYPD and FDNY STILL don’t get a long, by no means. As far as animosity between the services… Well, I’ve had the pleasure to do some joint exercises I never had that feeling. Yeah, a lot of times you get Army guys cracking jokes about Marines and all this talk about which service is better but, for me at least, it comes down to the fact that we’re ALL Americans. We’re ALL serving America and while we’re proud of each of our branch of service and the unique history each brand has, at end of the day we’re really one team in one fight.
